As a Network Administrator you are in the middle of this high-tech environment by maintaining our current systems. Furthermore, you have an important role in the ongoing developments to make sure we stay one step ahead and that Northpool is ready for the future!

Your challenge?

The energy markets are competitive, highly dynamic and 24/7 operational. Trading decisions rely on large amounts of data of many data sources. The systems you maintain, develop and optimize are being pushed to the limit.

Your goal?

Provide a fast and highly reliable system and network solution suited for the most advanced energy trading applications and data pipelines which are being deployed by your highly skilled colleagues thriving to outperform the competitors with their models and tools.

As part of the Operations team, you are in close contact to the traders, operational support and IT developers. You will be monitoring the stability of the systems and infrastructure networks and will provide immediate support to the traders to make sure the trading systems and data flows run smoothly. Furthermore, you will participate in project teams working on new developments or new sophisticated models. Your advice on system design and network lay-out to provide the optimal solution for our trading teams is vital.

WE ASK:

Minimal BSc degree in Computer Science or IT related study;
At least 3-5 years of working experience;
Configuring and maintaining complex networks within multiple locations;
Strong Cisco and SonicWall experience;
Azure Networking experience;
Willingness to learn;
Willingness to handle on-call duties one week per month;
Knowledge of Windows and Linux servers;
Knowledge of Hyper-V;
The ability to speak and write clear and fluent English;
Good social & communication skills;
Strong affection to work in a fast-paced environment;
The ability to keep the overview in a fast-changing environment and stay calm under hectic situations.
