We are seeking a new colleague to strengthen our team as IT Product Owner (PO). You will be working in an international environment and in a cross-functional team. Your future team is responsible for the vendor software/applications/products used by Commerzbank’s international branches in Continental Europe. This includes IT operations and IT business expert tasks, as well as the associated regulatory and administrative topics.

As a PO you have the end-to-end responsibility for the IT products in your cell. This includes running it (operations), evolving it (business experts) and all related regulatory topics (administration). For that purpose, the PO engages in regular communications with end-users and stakeholders and collects feedback from them.

As a PO, you make the necessary decisions for your products, you prioritize tasks independently, you take responsibility for their success and ensure product quality together with your team. Your team consists of IT business experts and IT operations in the composition necessary for the team success. Your team is generally distributed among the locations of Prague and Luxembourg.

You will be also responsible for ensuring the availability and timeliness of the products. You will cooperate tightly with stake holders and the product owners of the other products; they also belong to the Continual Europe product portfolio. You will also cooperate with the owners of IT process.

Your tasks

As an IT Product Owner, you will:

  • Develop the product vision, the product road map, and work rigorously toward it;
  • Derive tasks/epics in Jira backlog, following the above vison, in a performant and requirement-oriented manner;
  • Work together with the team in structuring and breaking down the backlog and creating the sub tasks/user stories;
  • Organize the team and appropriately prioritize tasks/epics;
  • Always have an eye on the respective end-users of the products and do your best to offer them efficient solutions;
  • Actively cooperate with the other product owners, mainly with those responsible for a product belonging to Continental Europe portfolio;
  • Maintain the relationship with the stake holders and exchange the up-to-date information with them;
  • Collect the end-users, other product owners and stake holders’ requirements and adopt it;
  • Support the products used in the Continental Europe international branches of Commerzbank;
  • Ensure the continuous availability of the product and identify operational optimization potentials;
  • Meet all the regulatory, compliance and audit requirements on time;
  • Involve in incident, request, change and problem management;
  • Investigate of production problems together with business experts and operations and propose common solutions to solve them;
  • Assist in troubleshooting of incidents and propose common solutions to solve them;
  • Act cross-functionally between vendor and business expert and operations. And facilitate the communication within all of them;
  • Participate in the projects for further enhancements, increasing efficiency and optimization;
  • Coordinate the steps with the vendor, including verification of specifications provided by vendor.

Your profile

You will primarily need:

  • A university degree, at least Bachelor’s;
  • Business/banking knowledge and understand corporate banking related IT & business processes;
  • Project coordination, with ability to understand end-users/stake holder’s needs;
  • Team Player and ability to quickly establish good working relationships;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • General technical skills/knowledge, understanding of IT product life cycle;
  • Strong collaboration skills and focus on delivering acceptable solutions;
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking, systematic approach;
  • Effective facilitation skills. Should be able to facilitate group discussions & meetings with various teams within and outside the bank;
  • Want to take responsibility and be successful together with the team;
  • Result orientation to meet agreed timelines, often driven by external requirements;
  • Hands-on attitude, pro-active and open communication;
  • Strong communication skills in English - both verbal and written, as majority of communication and documentation is in English. Able to adapt communication to suit different audiences;
  • Pragmatic lean attitude with a strong getting-things-done mentality;
  • Learn fast, to be able to work in the complex and the fast-changing banking environment;
  • Action orientated. Able to follow up on the feedback from the end-users/stake holders and develop positive outcomes based on it.

You will also make use of:

  • Ability to provide strong problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to deliver informative, well-organized presentations;
  • Ability to work in agile environment.
