Tasks

  • Designing, coding, testing, and debugging complex software applications for the space ground segment;
  • Collaborating with system engineers to understand and implement system requirements;
  • Participating in software design reviews and code inspections;
  • Developing and executing unit tests and functional test coverage for assigned coding tasks;
  • Providing technical support to operations staff in diagnosing and fixing operational issues.

Qualifications & Competencies

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field;
  • Master’s degree in a related field can be advantageous;
  • Knowledge of space systems and satellite operations is highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of JAVA and a Java framework like spring boot is required;
  • Conceptual or technical know-how about ground segment architecture in the context of space operation is advantageous;
  • Knowledge in Eclipse RCP is a plus;
  • Knowledge in web-based UI (e.g. Angular) is beneficial.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically while working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Passion for space exploration and a strong desire to learn new technologies.

Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, as English is the working language.

The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills together with the ability to effectively cooperate within the team.
