Key responsibilities:
- Develop and perform great engineering practices;
- Define standards and industry-accepted best practices;
- Evangelize modern software development practices;
- Ensure that quality standards are met and kept consistent;
- Driving the engineering productivity by measuring KPIs and assessing performance;
- Personal development and performance evaluation of chapter members in cooperation with Product Owners, Squad members and Agile coaches;
- Collaborate with other Chapter Leads and the Technical Project Leads to ensure the alignment;
- Support recruiting of talents;
- Onboarding of new employees.
Required technical skills:
- Strong fundamentals in software design and development;
- 8+ years of experience with Java backend development covering all phases of the SDLC;
- 2+ year of experience in technical leadership and coaching software developers;
- Experience with cloud and microservice architecture using Java/Kotlin and Spring ecosystem (Boot, Rest API, Kafka, JPA, Cloud, Security);
- Experience with Git, Maven, Bamboo/Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, APM, Jira, Confluence;
- Experience with test-driven development;
- Experience with setting up Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines is a plus.
Required personal skills:
- Experience in agile software development (SCRUM/Kanban);
- Experience in leading software engineers in an agile environment;
- Experience in continuous integration and delivery practices;
- Very good collaboration and communication skills;
- Able to share ideas and best practices;
- Dare to experiment;
- Deliver results;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing needs;
- Always eager to pick up new challenges and make them a success;
- Continuously improving yourself, your chapter members is something that makes you tick;
- Experience in people management;
- Experience in recruiting software engineers;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- Experience in the financial industry (lending, banking) is a plus.
