A vacancy for a Solution Architect with focus on reliability and security of computer systems and networks has arisen in Germany (Taufkirchen, Manching or Friedrichshafen). The successful applicant will join the "Digital Continuity & Business Relationship Management for the Engineering" team - that is part of the Information Management Function of Airbus Defence and Space.

The team enables our people of the Engineering Function with information systems by capturing business capability requirements that are transferred into non-standard demand improvements or information management projects, by performing business proof-of-values on our Arcadia ecosystem, and by defining solution architectures for the engineering domain.

Within the team, we host six roles:

• Business Relationship Managers are capturing demands to define the work scope including budget, schedule, and risks;
• Business Success Specialists are performing business proof-of-values and preparing state-of-the-art engineering solutions as well as is preparing advanced solutions;
• Full Stack Developers are designing and creating scalable information system solutions;
• Solution Architects are defining state-of-the-art solution architectures for the Engineering Function;
• Product Managers are leading the development, enhancements, and operation of the monitoring and control service in order to improve our information system solutions;
• DevSecOps Architects are enabling the application of best practices across the engineering information management domains as well as to engineering business functions.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Elicitation of technical requirements;
• Definition of cyber-physical architectures, trade-off solution concepts that meet the functional and the reliability and security requirements;
• Justifying the design of the technical solutions for the information systems that serves our Engineering function population;
• Collaboration with Business and Product Owners as well as with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure (classic and cloud based), and Technology Experts in order to define a modern value-add information system solution architecture.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Educated to a Master level (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline with a strong background in reliability and security of computer systems and networks engineering;
• Demonstrated knowledge of coding techniques; redundancy, spares, and repairs; software reliability and recovery techniques; networked systems reliability; and reliability satisficing;
• Demonstrated knowledge in the Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) using semi-formally design models, e.g., hybrid causal logic methodology, Petri Nets, etc.;
• Knowledge in information system architecture; Model-based Systems Engineering principles is a plus;
• Knowledge of TOGAF and ArchiMate; ability to model in Sparx Enterprise Architect;
• Experience within the area of information system designs for PDM, ALM, and PLM. Experience in MOM, ERP, and ILS is a plus;
• Experience in applying the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) - 4 layers is a plus;
• Ability to quickly learn business operations and processes;
• Ability to drive innovation and to predict information system evolutions;
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships;
• Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs;
• Good attention to detail and accuracy skills;
• Language Skills (German and English at negotiation level).
