We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join Airbus - Defence and Space in Portsmouth, UK. You will join our Modem System Product team within the UK Modem Delivery group and report to the Software Lead.
You will be joining a well-established team within one of the world's largest space businesses, working with technologies designed to travel to infinity and beyond. From satellites providing our planet with images and communications, to rovers that wonder foreign planets, and the rockets that launch them there...we make it happen, we make it fly!
You will develop and run test campaigns for Secure Network Management Systems and work on all stages of the software test lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software & test design, test development, and execution.
You will need to be able to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.
Tasks & Accountabilities
- Writing test procedures from system/sub-system Requirements Specifications;
- Running test procedures;
- Writing test reports and analysing results to determine whether the software meets the requirements;
- Provide input to and support TRRs, TRBs, and DRBs;
- Support the implementation team in the investigation and diagnosis of software issues;
- This role could involve very occasional travel for business throughout the UK and internationally.
Skills & Experience
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering, computer science, or a related discipline;
- Experience working in a responsible test engineering role and using issue tracking systems;
- Experience using Rational ClearCase, BitBucket, or a similar version control management system;
- Experience in software development using the Agile methodology;
- Knowledge of Network Management Systems;
- Knowledge of Automating test tools and methodologies.
