Develop Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) design of the lunar transfer and landing vehicle as keeping the consistency with the overall spacecraft design. Especially be responsible for performing GNC-related analysis and designing detailed GNC algorithm based on the spacecraft requirements. Collaboratively work with software engineers as well as GNC engineers to support algorithm implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop GNC design and perform GNC-related analysis (such as guidance law design and analysis, control law design and performance analysis, navigation filter design, covariance analysis, thruster duty analysis, DV analysis, attitude dynamics analysis, sloshing and flexible dynamics, various GNC sensor testing, etc.);
  2. Verify and validate the designed and implemented GNC algorithm by software test and simulation. Support the software test plan and execution for the GNC related functions and evaluate the test result from GNC design perspective. In addition, be engaged in Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) and Processor-In-the-Loop (PIL) simulation campaign and exhaustively validate the design algorithm;
  3. Conduct and support pre-flight analysis activities and participate in flight operation as a member of GNC teams. Develop flight operation plan and support interface design with the ground system from GNC perspective as collaboratively working with the system and operation team;
  4. Collaboratively work with the subcontractor on image processing algorithm and vision-based landing algorithm development.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience of AOCS or GNC subsystem engineering;
  • Experience of GNC 6DOF Simulation using MATLAB/Simulink;
  • Enthusiastic attitude and good team player;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Business level English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience of AOCS or GNC subsystem engineering;
  • Knowledge of sub-optimal explicit guidance law for space vehicle;
  • Experience of systems engineering within the space industry;
  • Experience of spacecraft operation;
  • Experience of C/C++, Python, Git;
  • Business level Japanese communication skill (speaking and writing);
  • Support development studies of space vehicles for future missions.
