As a Full-Stack Java Developer joining the SLIMS Core R&D team, your focus will both be on the front-end and back-end sides of SLIMS modules. SLIMS is presently modernizing through a hybrid of modern Angular-based front-ends, as well as evolution of its legacy stack developed in Java, SpringBoot and SmartGWT. You should therefore have competences in Java and Angular development. Additionally, it is a valuable plus if you are also experienced in aspects of cyber-security relevant to this mix of technologies and underlying protocols.

Your main responsibilities will be the following:

• Implement features and fix bugs with limited guidance;
• Interact with Application Engineers to understand customer needs, and with other Developers to design and implement new functionality;
• Understand the general SLIMS Core code bases and be able to enhance and extend any part of it;
• Participate in code reviews of large features;
• Potentially advice on cyber-security aspects of development.

Qualifications:

We are looking for motivated individuals with the following background:

• University Degree in a field related to Computer Science and/or Software Engineering;
• Strong hands-on coding experience with/competences in SmartGWT and/or Angular, TypeScript, REST and Java;
• Full professional proficiency in English. Proficiency in Dutch would be a plus but is not a requirement;
• Experience with SpringBoot, Hibernate, CSS, IntelliJ, Jira and Git are considered advantages;
• Experience or knowledge of cyber security would be a plus.

On a personal level, you possess great problem solving and analytical skills and you are eager to learn about new software technology and Agilent instruments & applications. You have the good communication and interpersonal skills to interact at various levels. You enjoy both working within a team and autonomously.
