The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Platform Team Leader - Software to lead our Engineering strategies. In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on streamlining the deployment, testing, and production-readiness of our autonomous robotic systems and have the opportunity to contribute to various projects that bridge the gap between software, operations, and end users.
This is a shaping role in a pioneering German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles for both defence and commercial applications. You’ll be working with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of automation and robotics, with a clear emphasis on operational resilience and modernisation.
To join our team, you should be excited to
- Act as the subject matter expert on radio communications, including setup, configuration, and best practices within our robotic platforms;
- Define and document deployment procedures to ensure seamless operation and integration for both teams and customers;
- Serve as the key technical liaison between the software engineering team and customer-facing teams, translating field feedback into technical improvements;
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers specializing in testing, cybersecurity, DevOps, and production;
- Oversee the bring-up and production-readiness of our robots in close coordination with hardware and software teams;
- Continuously improve the processes and tools required for scaling production of our autonomous systems;
- Drive and coordinate certification efforts to meet cybersecurity and quality compliance standards;
- Ensure the overall platform meets both internal and external regulatory requirements.
Your Profile
- Technical expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python, with experience in ROS (Robot Operating System);
- Practical experience in path planning, SLAM, and machine learning techniques for robotics;
- Knowledge in integrating and processing data from LiDAR, radar, GPS, and camera sensors;
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems both independently and in team settings;
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile development methodologies;
- Experience with simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo) and an understanding of cybersecurity principles for autonomous systems is a plus;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field;
- Business proficiency in English; and German is a plus.
