The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects on time, within budget, and within scope. They coordinate internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure projects meet specific objectives, which can range from software development and cloud migrations to infrastructure upgrades. Specific experience is required in the field of IT transition and transformation, involving data analysis, processing and migration between systems, formats, or locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, goals, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. They use project management software to monitor progress and adjust schedules as needed;
  • Budget & Resource Management: Create and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure the project stays within financial constraints. They also allocate and manage resources effectively, including internal teams and technical equipment;
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project success and develop strategies for mitigation and resolution. They also manage changes to the project scope, objectives, or requirements;
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact, providing regular and up-to-date status reports to stakeholders, senior management, and clients. They facilitate meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication across all parties;
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional project teams, delegating tasks and responsibilities to team members. They are responsible for tracking team performance and resolving conflicts;
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that the project deliverables meet quality standards and specified requirements, often by implementing quality control processes and user acceptance testing (UAT);
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate with and manage third-party vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality performance and data security for the organization's IT needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred;
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects. Experience with specific areas like IT transformation, software development, cloud technologies, or infrastructure management is highly beneficial;
  • Technical Skills: A strong understanding of IT systems, software development life cycles (SDLC), network configurations, and relevant technologies. Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and Kanban is also essential. Experience with PM tools like Jira will be beneficial;
  • Certifications: Industry certifications like the Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) are highly valued;
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities are also crucial.
