This unit supports UPM's AI transformation projects and acts as a catalyst for AI adoption across the organization. What you will do:

Platform Infrastructure Design & Development: Design, develop and deploy the foundational AI infrastructure layer using Infrastructure as Code. Ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and secure, supporting all higher-level AI capabilities and enabling rapid provisioning of compute, storage, networking, and GPU resources.

Automation, CI/CD & Environment Management: Develop and standardize automated CI/CD pipelines and environment provisioning to enable reliable, repeatable, and efficient deployment of platform services and AI solutions. Drive automation-first practices, including the evaluation and introduction of AI agents to accelerate build, deploy, and operate workflows.

Enablement & Platform Services: Ensure the AI infrastructure supports the productization of AI platform capabilities and meets the needs of AI/ML teams for model training, deployment, and monitoring.

Observability, Monitoring & Cost Optimization: Establish actionable monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes. Drive cost-efficiency and operational excellence through proactive observability, resource management, and continuous improvement of platform health.

Standardization & Documentation: Define, document, and promote best practices, standards, and guidelines for infrastructure, automation, and operations. Maintain documentation to support self-service and compliance.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership: Work closely with data, AI, security, and platform teams to align roadmaps, unblock delivery, and drive platform transformation. Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Who you are:

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on professional with strong experience in building reliable and scalable AI infrastructure in Azure.

You should have:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
Strong background in deploying and managing containerized applications (Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes/AKS)
Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub) and automating environment provisioning
Solid understanding of identity, access management, networking, and security in Azure
Experience with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow or similar) for model deployment and monitoring at scale
Proficiency in Python and scripting languages for automation and integration
Hands-on experience with declarative configuration (YAML for CI/CD, Kubernetes/container manifests) and IaC using Terraform
Familiarity with GenAI/agentic AI frameworks and real-time processing tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into practical infrastructure solutions
Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and comfort working in multicultural and virtual teams
A collaborative mindset, with willingness to mentor others and support a culture of continuous improvement
