What you will do:

• Design, build, and enhance a sustainable and scalable data platform;
• Collaborate with data engineers across the organization to understand and address their needs;
• Provide modern tools, standards, and best practices to enable data engineers;
• Align platform architecture with data architects, platform engineers, and security officers to ensure stability and security;
• Support advanced use cases, such as managing large IoT data streams;
• Act as a role model, simplifying access to data, introducing best practices, and driving Axpo’s data-driven transformation;
• Scout innovative technologies and trends in data engineering;
• Share your expertise and contribute to Axpo’s vibrant data community.

What you bring & who you are:

• At least 3 years of experience in modern data engineering;
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages;
• Experience managing cloud environments like Azure and their data services (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory) using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform;
• Knowledge of identity and access management, as well as networking (e.g., Azure VNet);
• Expertise in data architecture patterns such as ETL, medallion architecture, and data mesh;
• Motivated to build and improve platforms that enable other teams;
• Fluent in German or English;
• Team-oriented with a proactive mindset, a maker mentality, and a good sense of humor.
