The DB Engineer will be responsible for handling business requests, formalizing them technically, and monitoring project progress by following the changes performed by the team.
He/She will also manage DB administration and incident during the handover period.
Responsibilities:
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications;
- Design the database solutions tailored to business needs with the support of the architect;
- Manage and track incidents and tickets through internal tools;
- Participate in the migration of the databases;
- Perform performance analysis of production systems;
- Ensure systems comply with the group standards;
- Perform all the test and validation;
- Database installations: install and configure or upgrade database and provide associated documentation;
- Issues analysis in the build phase;
- Provide authentication information to applicative integrator;
- Provide technical expertise, technology watch;
- Automation of deployments/DevOps technologies;
- Repeating tasks automation;
- Continuously improve and write procedures/reflex sheets for supervision and operation teams;
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and the Agile methodology.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL);
- Proficiency in query optimization and performance management;
- Knowledge of database backup and restoration tools;
- Strong understanding of Database architecture concepts;
- Strong proficiency in ticket management systems;
- Database: Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch;
- Ability to estimate workload & detect platform needs;
- Issues analysis in the build phase;
- Provide technical expertise, technology watch;
- Web oriented application installation and configuration: Apache, IIS, Nginx, Tomcat, Jboss, Weblogic, HAProxy, Certificate management.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system management in a production environment;
- Experience in managed services or service desk environments is a plus;
- General knowledge on Linux OS, Windows and web application;
- ITIL concepts;
- Agile methodology;
- Virtualization knowledge: Docker, VMware …;
- Network contexts Knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalling, VLAN, VPN…);
- Applications installations: install or upgrade applications and provide associated documentation;
- English fluent.

- Ability to work with different departments on the projects assigned;
- Proactive and self-motivated. Ability to independently look for solutions;
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and flexible hours;
- Advanced English knowledge, a conversational level in French would be appreciated;
