SUMMARY:
At Novocure, every role contributes to extending the lives of people living with cancer. As our new Jira Administrator, you’ll play a key part in this mission. We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Jira Administrator to support and evolve our Atlassian ecosystem across multiple business units. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the administration, customization, and integration of Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian products. This role requires a strong understanding of agile processes, Jira configuration best practices, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and enhance the productivity of our development and operations teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer, configure, and maintain Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Crowd).
- Design and manage custom workflows, fields, screens, permissions, schemes, and automation rules to support various business processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (engineering, IT, PMO, operations) to understand requirements and translate them into effective Jira configurations.
- Develop and manage dashboards, reports, filters, and queries to meet reporting and tracking needs across teams.
- Create and maintain custom scripts and post functions using tools like ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, or Groovy.
- Supporting integration of Jira with other systems (e.g. GitHub, CI/CD tools, identity providers) to streamline collaboration and workflows.
- Perform regular system audits, data cleanup, user management, and permission reviews.
- Support upgrades, migrations, plugin management, and testing efforts related to the Atlassian suite.
- Act as a technical liaison between end-users and Atlassian product support.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of experience administering Jira Software and Confluence in a mid- to large-scale environment.
- Solid understanding of Jira query language (JQL) and experience building dashboards, filters, and advanced reports.
- Hands-on experience with ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, or similar tools to customize workflows and logic.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and ITIL/ITSM frameworks and aligning Jira setups to support them.
- Experience integrating Atlassian tools with third-party systems via REST APIs, webhooks, or plug-ins.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in gathering and translating requirements.
OTHER:
- Experience within regulated industry environments is an advantage (e.g. pharmaceutical, life sciences, medical devices)
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and data compliance frameworks
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or other relevant Atlassian certifications would be a plus.
- Familiarity with enterprise identity and access management solutions (e.g., Okta, Active Directory, SSO/SAML).
- Exposure to Bitbucket, Trello, or Opsgenie is a plus.
