What awaits you?

• You develop, train, validate, and optimise AI/ML models for production-grade automotive use cases – from initial prototype to long-term operation.
• You work hands-on with large-scale, heterogeneous engineering, vehicle, and business data, transforming it into high-performing models.
• You take responsibility for model performance, robustness, explainability, and lifecycle management in real business environments.
• You deploy models into productive systems, monitor their behaviour, and continuously improve them based on real-world feedback.
• You collaborate closely with data stewards, platform engineers, and architects to ensure scalable and compliant AI solutions.
• You actively contribute to lighthouse use cases and help establish best practices for industrial-grade AI development at BMW.

What should you bring along?

• A university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Mathematics, Physics, or comparable qualifications.
• At least five years of professional experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models in a business or industrial setting.
• Proven success in bringing models from research or prototype stage into productive, value-generating operations. Experienced in working within agile, cross-functional teams with a strong sense of ownership and delivery focus.
• Strong expertise in modern ML methods (e.g., deep learning, time series, NLP, multimodal models) and their practical limitations.
• Hands-on experience with Python-based ML stacks and production environments (training, inference, monitoring).
• A solid understanding of data quality, bias, robustness, and compliance requirements for enterprise AI systems.
• Very good written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of German, both written and spoken, is an advantage.
