About the role:

As a Senior JavaScript Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. The main focus of this role is improving and refining accessibility within a complex, data-intensive table component, which is a core element of the product. This is a hands-on, high-impact engineering role that combines advanced frontend development, accessibility audits, and close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams. You will play a key role in shaping accessibility standards at scale and ensuring an inclusive user experience across one of the most critical parts of the product.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and continuously improve browser accessibility across complex UI components
• Own and enhance the accessibility of table/grid-based interfaces, including:
  • Screen reader interactions (editing values, navigating columns, column-specific pickers)
  • Advanced keyboard navigation (rows, columns, filters, search, bulk actions, and top-level controls)
• Review existing accessibility implementations and refine them based on internal and external (vendor) audit feedback
• Conduct accessibility audits, identify gaps, and drive remediation efforts end-to-end
• Ensure compliance with modern accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG)
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and UX teams to embed accessibility into product development workflows
• Act as a subject-matter expert for accessibility, proactively suggesting improvements, patterns, and scalable solutions
• Help raise the overall accessibility maturity of the product through guidance, code reviews, and best-practice advocacy

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Frontend/UI Engineer working on complex, production-grade applications
• Proven, hands-on experience with browser accessibility in real-world products
• Strong practical knowledge of:
  • Screen readers and assistive technologies
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • ARIA roles, attributes, and accessibility design patterns
• Excellent proficiency in JavaScript and modern frontend development
• Experience building and maintaining complex UI components such as tables, grids, dashboards, or data-heavy interfaces
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced, product-driven environment

Accessibility:

• Deep understanding of WCAG, with a strong focus on WCAG 2.1 AA
• Semantic HTML and accessibility-first markup
• WAI-ARIA roles, states, and patterns
• Keyboard UX design and implementation
• Screen reader literacy, including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver

Front End Technologies:

• React (advanced, production-level experience)
• Modern JavaScript and component-based architectures
• Experience working with microfrontend architectures

Desirable:

• Experience leading or contributing to accessibility audits
• Background in large-scale SaaS or product-led companies
• Experience collaborating closely with designers, UX specialists, or business analysts on accessibility topics
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and automation frameworks
