The IT Data Analyst is a detail-oriented and analytical expert to drive data analysis, migration and optimization activities to support enterprise-level transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to help achieve strategic decision-making and improve business performance. The role involves analyzing complex data landscapes, defining data identification and separation logic, supporting compliance efforts, and enabling successful data migration across systems and jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with enterprise architects and application owners to assess current data structures and dependencies;
• Develop and maintain an application inventory and data catalogue for in-scope systems;
• Define and document company data separation logic, including business rules for identifying regional data (e.g. customers, vendors);
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights;
• Support the creation of migration playbooks, including data mapping, transformation rules, and retention strategies;
• Conduct data quality assessments and identify Critical Data Elements (CDEs) for prioritisation;
• Assist in compliance surveys and gap analysis for data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, Telecommunications Security Act);
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and secure data migration;
• Support testing and validation phases, including reconciliation and post-migration audits;
• Document findings, methodologies, and recommendations for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems or related analysis/engineering fields;
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in IT transformation or migration projects;
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Familiarity with ETL processes, data dictionaries, and metadata management;
• Knowledge of GDPR, data protection and information regulatory compliance;
• Experience with data separation, data governance, and compliance frameworks;
• Experience in telecommunications, cloud migration, or enterprise IT separation will be beneficial;
• Exposure to platforms and tools like Snowflake or Azure Data Factory;
• Understanding of application lifecycle management and system interfaces;
• Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, collaboration and stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, excellent documentation and communication skills.
