Job description

As R&D Manager Software you will lead a dynamic development team of talented software engineers, which is executing software design for cutting-edge solutions for our innovative Defense & Security and Air Traffic Control products.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for devising and implementing R&D Software policy, for the short and long
• term, in line with the company objectives. You have the ability to prioritize.
• You keep a close eye on the objective, planning and ensure timely delivery for the software team contributions to NPI projects.
• You analyze new technology trends, from which you detect and initiate new product developments and product improvements.
• You question – with your critical eye - the R&D processes and make the necessary optimizations (product, development, process...).
• You focus on the development of the R&D team. You lead and inspire the team and act as a sound board or coach where necessary.
• You work closely together with hardware and mechanics R&D team.
• You report to the R&D director.

Job requirements

Your profile

• You have a master’s degree in electronics engineering.
• You have a proven track record in R&D Software.
• You have a strong technical background in software development (Linux, C++) and knowledge of Buildroot and/or Yocto.
• You are eager to learn and interested in working on high-tech products.
• You have strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• You have the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• You have change perspective and go for innovation.
• You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
