As the Engineering Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Software Engineers specializing in embedded Linux systems and Wi-Fi technologies.
You aren't just a people manager; you are a technical facilitator who ensures that our system services and wireless stacks are robust, scalable, and delivered on time.
You will bridge the gap between complex hardware constraints and high-level product requirements, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous growth.
Your responsibilities
Leadership and Delivery
- Team Growth: Hire, mentor, and retain top-tier talent across embedded and Wi-Fi domains. Conduct performance reviews and career development sessions;
- Project Orchestration: Lead the execution of complex software roadmaps, balancing technical debt with new feature delivery in an agile environment;
- Technical Strategy: Collaborate with Senior Engineers to define the architectural vision, ensuring alignment between general system services and the Wi-Fi subsystem;
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for silicon vendors (Qualcomm, MediaTek, etc.) and internal product stakeholders.
Your skills and experience
- Experience: 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a formal leadership or management role;
- Technical Foundation: A strong background in C/C++ and Embedded Linux. While you may not code daily, you must be able to participate in deep-dive architectural reviews and understand the nuances of the Linux networking stack;
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Embedded Product Lifecycle, from initial hardware bring-up to field deployment and OTA updates;
- Process Mastery: Experience implementing modern DevOps practices in embedded environments (CI/CD for hardware, automated testing, and remote debugging);
- Resource Management: Proven ability to manage sprint capacity, identify bottlenecks, and mitigate risks in high-pressure delivery cycles.
Nice to Have
- Ecosystem Expertise: Previous experience managing teams working with OpenWRT, Yocto, or Buildroot;
- Wireless Literacy: Familiarity with the complexities of Wi-Fi certification (Wi-Fi Alliance) and regulatory compliance;
- Modern Languages: Exposure to managing teams using Rust or Go in an embedded context;
- Telco Standards: Understanding of the broadband industry, including USP (TR-369) and Matter protocols.
Soft Skills
- Empathetic Leadership: Ability to support engineers through technical challenges while maintaining a high bar for performance;
- Conflict Resolution: Skilled at navigating technical disagreements and finding "middle-ground" solutions that don't compromise system integrity;
- Strategic Communication: Ability to translate "low-level" technical blockers into clear business impacts for non-technical leadership.
