Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Procedural Tools Engineer to join the development of a new IP. Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining!
As a member of the Engine & Tools department, you’ll contribute to the design and implementation of robust, user-friendly procedural tools that support level artists, level designers, and gameplay content designers in building a compelling and visually rich world.
As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better; with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.
You’ll help us by…
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust procedural tools that support efficient content creation and game development.
- Collaborating closely with artists, designers, and engineers to deliver intuitive tools that address real production needs.
- Identifying and driving pipeline improvements that increase quality, consistency, and team productivity.
- Developing and maintaining our proprietary UI framework.
- Writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code.
You’re awesome because you have…
- Demonstrated professional programming experience, ideally in game development, tools, or pipeline engineering.
- Strong C++ skills and a solid grasp of modern development best practices (architecture, debugging, profiling, testing).
- Hands-on experience building procedural content tools (e.g., city/level generation, terrain systems, foliage scattering, rule-based placement).
- Understanding of DCC pipelines used in game production and how tools integrate into them.
- Practical UI development experience with frameworks such as Qt, ImGui, WPF, or similar - and a good eye for efficient, elegant authoring workflows.
- A user-centered mindset, including consideration for level artists and designers, and an iterative approach to tool development based on feedback.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to connect engineering and creative disciplines.
Bonus points for…
- Experience with procedural content packages and workflows (e.g., Houdini, Blender).
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine and/or comparable game engines, including editor tooling and pipeline integration.
