Job Description

As a Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will take full ownership of our enterprise Linux environment and play a crucial role in ensuring secure, stable, and efficient operations across our Hybrid IT landscape. This is a hands‑on senior technical role where you act as the go‑to authority for Linux, automation, and standardization, shaping how Linux services are delivered and continuously improved.

You will be part of a collaborative and cross‑domain IT Operations team, working closely with peers in areas such as Networks, Windows, Cloud, Client and Infrastructure technologies to solve complex challenges and contribute to solution design.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of the secure, stable, and efficient operation of the Linux domain.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Linux architecture documentation, system inventories, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Lead operational excellence by managing the Linux operational backlog in Jira and acting as technical lead during major incidents.
  • Identify risks, issues, and improvement opportunities while driving automation and simplification initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers, support workload prioritization, and ensure alignment with IT security and operational policies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑domain teams to support troubleshooting, solution design, and alignment with broader IT strategy and OKRs.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in enterprise‑level Linux administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Broad technical understanding of surrounding IT infrastructure domains
  • Proven track record in secure, stable, and efficient Linux operations.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Bonus Points (Not mandatory)

  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Satellite.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance frameworks
  • AWS certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) are a plus
  • Azure certifications are considered an advantage
