Description

The Senior Network Engineer will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while developing, implementing, and supporting a complex backbone. You will need extensive experience in engineering and operations of very large-scale enterprise/ service provider networks.

The role requires the ability to develop custom applications and automation tools to streamline network provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes, driving efficiency and reducing deployment times in complex environments. You will need to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This engineer will need to obsess over the customer experience and drive excellence in their everyday work habits through strong technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving infrastructure incidents with a sense of urgency based on defined priority.
  • Provide clear and concise updates on all incidents being managed.
  • Maintaining and upgrading existing network infrastructure to current standards.
  • Contribute to technical and procedural documentation.
  • Drive operational excellence in every aspect of your work.
  • Deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • Work collaboratively with global partners and teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience as a Network Engineer and project engineering or lead role on large-scale network deployments (e.g., multi- site rollouts, data center builds).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with carrier-grade networking technologies and vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.), including protocols such as BGP, ISIS, MPLS and IPsec.
  • Solid understanding of underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
  • Experience supporting large-scale peering/transit networks, with a sound knowledge of complex traffic engineering and Internet routing policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MacOS, Linux, or other variations of UNIX.
  • Working knowledge of DWDM Optical Transport technologies.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including proven abilities to adapt to dynamic project environments, while able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly Python, with experience building applications or tools for network automation (e.g., using Netmiko, NAPALM, Scrapli or REST APIs).
  • Experience with automation/orchestration platforms (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins) and version control (Git).
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and experience troubleshooting complex, large-scale network issues under pressure.
