Developer Experience (DX) Lead

Developer Experience (DX) Lead

Gameloft

Bucharest, Romania

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

Cross-Studio Technical Enablement

  • Work closely with studio Technical Directors, leads, and senior engineers to understand how development workflows operate in practice.
  • Gain hands-on familiarity with multiple engines, tech stacks, and build pipelines used across teams.
  • Identify recurring patterns, friction points, technical risks, and opportunities for simplification or convergence across teams (pipelines, tooling, CI/CD, testing, iteration speed).
  • Support teams in aligning on shared approaches where it brings clear benefits — without enforcing uniform solutions.

Initiative & Mission Building

  • Turn observations from the field into clear, actionable technical initiatives.
  • Help scope these initiatives, define success criteria, and support the setup of small, focused missions with the right contributors.
  • Contribute to the evolution of shared pipelines and workflows when doing so improves consistency, reliability, or development velocity, and reduces delivery or scalability risks.
  • Help maintain momentum and clarity across initiatives through coordination and follow-up.

Shared Practices & References

  • Contribute to the definition of lightweight shared practices, reference workflows, or examples when they help teams work more effectively.
  • Encourage reuse of tools, engine integrations, pipelines, and solutions that have proven value and acceptable risk profiles.
  • Monitor adoption and outcomes, adjusting approaches based on real usage, feedback, and observed risk trends.

AI-Assisted Development (Enablement-Focused)

  • Explore where AI-assisted tooling can be practically useful for engineers (e.g. code review, refactoring, testing, migrations, documentation).
  • Support teams in experimenting with and adopting AI tools in a safe, responsible, and incremental way.
  • Help shape usage guidelines and guardrails together with engineers.
  • Maintain a clear view of where AI adds value and where it does not, including associated technical or operational risks.

Communication & Alignment

  • Maintain close, ongoing exchange with technical teams across studios.
  • Share learnings, patterns, and examples across teams to encourage reuse and convergence.
  • Provide visibility on recurring technical themes, identified risks, and progress of ongoing initiatives.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 8+ years in game/software engineering; shipped titles or production tooling.
  • T-shaped: experience with multiple engines, tech stacks and build/CI-CD pipelines, with real depth in at least one (build/release, engine integration, or DX tooling).
  • Proven at driving cross-team change through influence, without direct authority - strong facilitation and stakeholder management.
  • Producer-like coordination: scoping initiatives, defining success criteria, running small focused missions, follow-through.
  • AI-assisted dev tools experience (code review, refactoring, testing, migrations)

WHO YOU ARE

  • Excellent communicator (English): turns messy technical reality into clear, shared narratives; credible with engineers and leadership alike.
  • Pragmatic and risk-aware: sound judgment on where convergence/AI tooling helps and where it does not.
  • Comfortable in a distributed, multi-studio, multi-timezone organization.
  • Nice to have: DevEx/build-release background.
