Software Technical Lead - Medical Equipment

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the role of Software Technical Lead to oversee our software engineering efforts in developing cutting-edge surgical vision care products in Teltow, near Berlin.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Driving and overseeing the software development process, managing a team of engineers across various disciplines;
Collaboration within a multi-department Product Core Team for deriving product software requirements, defining architecture, and establishing project timelines;
Close coordination with R&D department workstreams and functional owners to align product architecture with the company strategy;
Instrumental in adopting, maintaining, and implementing best software development practices through example, guidance, and training;
Develop, modify, and maintain standards for software systems quality, evaluate software systems activities from requirements to validation, efine measures to ensure product quality and compliance;
Making recommendations for new technological equipment and materials;
Participation in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

BS, MS, MBA, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline;
Fluent English knowledge;
Over 7 years of software development experience;
3+ years of software engineering leadership in regulated industries (medical, automotive, aerospace);
Skilled in managing distributed teams;
Proficient in C++/C#/WPF client-server application development;
Strong background in architectural design, signal/image processing, and 2D/3D visualization, with proven interpersonal and team leadership skills.

NICE TO HAVE:

Familiarity with Ophthalmology domain;
Experience with medical interoperability standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR), SaMD, SiMD, and cloud infrastructure/application development.
