For Its IT team, Cefic is looking for a (M/F/D): Network, Systems and Security Administrator.

Mission of the role:

The administrator will work closely with a dynamic team of IT professionals and will be responsible for running and maintaining servers and network systems, and in enhancing the IT cybersecurity both on prem and in cloud-based environments.

Are you inspired by these responsibilities?

You will:

  • Install and maintain network systems (switches, routers, firewalls, …) as well as MS Windows® servers, on-prem or in cloud-based environments;
  • Regularly/proactively monitor and test the above for anticipative glitch detection and to ensure security, constant availability and structural integrity;
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software problems or performance issues in a timely and efficient manner, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans;
  • Identify technical risks and vulnerabilities in the virtual and physical infrastructure and the applications, and recommend solutions;
  • Contribute to developing organisation-wide security measures and optimal IT governance by through documentation in policies, procedures or playbooks;
  • Stay up to date with latest industry trends, best practices and cybersecurity developments and recommend upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment;
  • When necessary, act as a backup for IT colleagues to provide technical support and guidance to users.

Can you make the difference?

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced professional who demonstrates the following experience, competencies and personal qualities:

  • Academic background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (Master degree preferred);
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years of proven successful experience in network and systems administration, with proven success in installation and maintenance of VMware- and Windows-based software (Knowledge of Linux-based software is an asset);
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining security detection or protection systems, rigor and firm knowledge in applying security principles (cyber-prevention, PIM, secure by design, policies, risk-based approach, …);
  • Solid knowledge of network and system security protocols and procedures (OSI layers, TCP/IP, VLANs, WLANs, SSL, SMTP, …). Experience with the Cisco® systems is an asset;
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Strong expertise with MS Windows servers, local and Azure Active Directory architecture and with VMware platforms;
  • A proven experience working in and maintaining a Microsoft® 365 environment is strongly recommended and will be an asset (Azure®, Defender®, Intune®, Sentinel®, …);
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or Veeam, as well as creating automated scripts (a.o. Powershell) is preferred;
  • Good project management skills, service-minded with a certain autonomy, self-starter who is methodical and rigorous;
  • Full professional proficiency in English; additional European languages are a definite asset;
  • Strong communication skills: ability to speak clearly and concisely, sharing knowledge and expertise and at ease in exchanging with colleagues and stakeholders within both social and formal settings. Ability to handle high pressure situations and manage stress when faced with challenges and time sensitive problems;
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • Open to the necessity of working outside regular working hours when required by IT-specific tasks;
  • Experience dealing with technical partners or sub-contractors is a plus.
